Community Action Points

It all started when…

Community Action Points (CAPs) is a system we use to thank players who go the extra mile to make the community of Dystopia Rising a better place. These points can be spent on a list of things that will enhance your in-game experience.

CAPs are earned and spent on a local chapter basis; and they are recorded in the database for tracking. CAPs never expire so do not feel pressured to use them when you get them. But instead use them when you want them!

HOW TO RECEIVE COMMUNITY ACTION POINTS

Community Action Points are gained by giving back to the other players at events. We at Dystopia Rising Massachusetts believe that the only way for a community to grow positively is for all of us to be doing our best to help the people around us. The primary method to be rewarded CAPs is by doing extra time on Casting Blocks. The typical reward is 10 CAPs per extra hour of Casting Blocks.

LIST OF REWARDS

This list is a living, adapting system. Items on this list may be added, updated or removed, as appropriate.

100 CAPS

-Reliable Rumor: Get a Reliable piece of information on a Plotline or Face NPC (Must be requested to Story.drma@gmail.com at least a week prior to game)

150 CAPS

-Include a Rumor: Get a Rumor added to the Old Port Observer! (Must be requested to Story.drma@gmail.com 3 weeks prior to the game you wish it to be included in. The Story team may edit the rumor to ensure appropriateness to intent, genre, and community guidelines)

OR

-Face NPC comes to teach you a Profession Skill. Please understand that not all NPCs are available to teach a Profession Skill. You may request a specific NPC to teach you, but this will require coordination with the person playing the Face NPC, story appropriateness, and the Story Team may send another NPC to teach you in their stead if not possible. (Must be requested to Story.drma@gmail.com 3 weeks prior to the game)

250 CAPS

-Live in Another Quarter: Have your character live in another Quarter for the weeks leading up to the next DRMA Game. Get a small blurb about what it was like and what you learned while there! This can also be used instead of gaining the blurb to get a Research opportunity. You must still have the appropriate Lore(s) and level of Education to utilize this alternative benefit. (Must be requested to Story.drma@gmail.com 3 weeks prior to the game)

300 CAPS

-Face NPC comes out to teach you a Profession: Overtly or discreetly, your choice! You must still meet the appropriate requirements to learn the skill.

500 CAPS

-NPC Induction: Have a Face NPC come in to induct you into a Faith or Society within our ability at a local level. (Must be requested to Story.drma@gmail.com 3 weeks prior to the game)

OR

-Parley Meeting with a Face NPC: Request an in person meeting with a Face NPC your character has met in person. Neither side can use this meeting to Trap or Attack each other. This Parley goes across all PCs at the game while the NPC is out for the meeting as the Quarter is calling The Parley, not the individual person and it is approved by The Council of Paragons. (Must be requested to Story.drma@gmail.com 3 weeks prior to the game)

750 CAPS

-Permanent Move: Have your character permanently live in another Quarter outside of The Crow’s Nest Quarter! This does not include blurbs for living there as it is expected your PC has made efforts to roleplay with characters from that Quarter to know what livelihood is like there!

OR

-Build a (Not) Bear: Work with the Story Director Team to build a re-occurring Critter that is joining the game’s ecosystem. For good or for ill! This is a detailed process that will occur between games with the Story Team to ensure that it fits our genre and system guidelines.

OR

-Request a Hunt: Request that the Story Team send out a specific type of critter that you know makes The Oldest Port their home. (Must be requested to Story.drma@gmail.com 3 weeks prior to the game)
